Dr. Md Shajedur Rahman Shawon is an early-career epidemiologist at UNSW’s Centre for Big Data Research in Health. He holds a doctorate in Population Health from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Epidemiology from the Karolinska Institute, and a medical degree from Dhaka Medical College. He has received advanced training in diabetes research, genetic epidemiology, and global health research. Dr. Shawon’s research focuses on chronic diseases, utilizing large-scale healthcare data from Australia, the UK, and Sweden. He is a Fellow of the UK Royal Society for Public Health.
