Nitai Sarkar Partho epitomizes youthful vigor and assurance. His entrepreneurial spirit was evident since childhood, eventually leading him to earn BBA and MBA degrees from Eastern University Bangladesh. Post-graduation, he honed his expertise with a two-year stint in an e-commerce firm, laying the foundation for his venture, ‘Ortha.’
Established in December 2015, Ortha thrives on empowering rural women by crafting a diverse range of bed sheets, pillow covers, and home decor. Partho meticulously organized business documents and aligned Ortha with an online platform association, envisioning nationwide reach through e-commerce.
Joining BYEAH in late 2017 marked a turning point. Despite having dreams, Partho lacked structured plans until BYEAH infused his aspirations with practical guidance. He swiftly expanded Ortha, diversifying its offerings to include comforters, curtains, and more, while actively engaging in marketing avenues like SME fairs and BYEAH-organized events.
Guided by mentor Md. Sajjad Hossein, Partho navigated challenges, refining his strategies and expanding his initial capital of BDT 60,000 to an impressive BDT 1,500,000. Ortha now employs 8 permanent and 8 temporary staff, prioritizing gender equality with 4 women and 4 men.
For Partho, entrepreneurship isn’t merely a personal pursuit; it’s a solution to unemployment plaguing Bangladeshi youth. He firmly believes that fostering entrepreneurship will catalyze economic development, benefiting society and the nation at large.
His story symbolizes resilience, empowerment, and the transformative impact of mentorship, echoing a testament to the potential of entrepreneurial endeavors in addressing societal challenges and driving progress.
